Design Goals

  • Provide a challenging, multi-step puzzle to serve as a skill check.

  • Showcase the usefulness and function of the upcoming upgrade the player will receive for completing this level.

  • Introduce new visual language that communicates to the player when a device is powered on.

  • Provide the most challenging platforming sequence in the game up to that point.

Responsibilities

Note: This level was originally designed by a different member of the team, but required a full redesign since we needed to remove a frustrating gameplay interaction from the room. My design is unrecognizable from the original.

  • Completely redesign and rebuild level from paper map to final shipping quality.

  • Observe play tests live from several Twitch streamers.

  • Script all gameplay events in level.

  • Serve as art director and lighting artist.

  • Perform general QA and ad hoc play testing.
